Community meeting Tuesday for Bill 96

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to inform Kahnawa’kehró:non that an urgent community meeting is being called for in regards to updates and the community’s position concerning Quebec’s Bill 96. All leadership, organizations and community members are urged to attend to ensure everyone is informed, and can contribute to discussions on actions moving forward.
The MCK will be present to provide an update on a meeting between Ohén:ton Í:iente ne Ratitsénhaienhs Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer, Assembly of First Nations Quebec-Labrador Regional Chief Ghislain Picard, Mi’kmaq Chief John Martin, Quebec’s Minister of Language & Culture Simon Jolin-Barrette, and Aboriginal Affairs Minister Ian Lafrenière.
Please note that although the MCK is initiating this meeting, the intention is to create an open community space for all Kahnawa’kehró:non to come together and discuss how we will fight this Bill as a collective.
The meeting will take place at the Knights of Columbus Hall tomorrow (Tuesday, May 17th) at 5pm.
