Reminder - KEPO Fish Sampling on Little Suzanne River continues until June 26th
06/13/2022
The Kahnawą:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO) wishes to remind the community that it is conducting fish sampling throughout the Little Suzanne River, which began on June 8th and continues until June 26th.
Please note that members of the Mohawk Council of Akwesasnes Environment Office will be assisting KEPO staff on June 14th, 16th, and 23rd.
The sampling uses minnow traps and fyke (hoop) nets. One location may be sampled with an electrofishing unit if possible. All native fish species will be released following capture.
This effort is part of the greater Aquatic Stewardship Program in Kahnawą:ke and will tell us about the health of the river.
Sampling locations are shown with yellow symbols below:
For questions, please contact KEPO at 450-635-0600 or Environment.Protection@mck.ca.
