Sky-Deer meeting with US Ambassador David L Cohen

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to advise the community that Oh�n:ton �:iente ne Ratits�nhaienhs (Grand Chief) Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer, is meeting with U.S. Ambassador to Canada David L. Cohen this morning (Thursday).

The meeting was coordinated to discuss several issues of concern for Kahnaw�:ke including border crossing, Quebec�s Bill 96, and law enforcement.

�Today�s meeting is important for the relations between Kahnaw�:ke and the U.S.,� said Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer. �In addition to the political items to be discussed, we are also centering discussions around climate change, support for Indigenous business, and brainstorming on ways to strengthen relations with Kahnaw�:ke.�

Ratits�nhaienhs Jessica Lazare, Mike Delisle, and Lindsay LeBorgne are also participating in the discussions.
