Mercier Bridge pier restoration work to impact local traffic

06/27/2022

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) has been notified by the Mohawk Bridge Consortium that preparatory work for the next phase of the Pier Restoration Project will begin tomorrow, June 28th, 2022.

Some modifications will be made to the R-138/R-132 Service Roads, as well as the bypass road (see map below), due to the location of the piers and their proximity to the roadway.

This phase of the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated Pier Restoration Project will begin on Wednesday, July 6th, and is expected to last approximately 2 years.

More information and details will be released as soon as it becomes available.

The MCK reminds the public that these works are subject to change due to weather conditions, operational constraints, or work progression and that it does not take part in the scheduling or cancellation of such works.
