Ohenton Iiente ne Ratitsenhaienhs Sky-Deer attending Assembly of First Nations 43rd annual General Assembly

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke wishes to inform the community that Oh�n:ton �:iente ne Ratits�nhaienhs (Grand Chief) Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer is in Vancouver, British Columbia to participate in the Assembly of First Nations 43rd annual General Assembly. The event begins today and runs until Thursday.

Preliminary agenda items include the United Nations Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Act; First Nations Languages Funding; Environment & Water Stewardship; First Nations Child & Family Services; Policing as an Essential Service; and Housing & Homelessness.

Reports will also be presented by the Regional Chiefs, the AFN�s Women�s Council, the First Nations Veterans Council, and the AFN Youth Council. An update will also be provided on the situation regarding RoseAnne Archibald � who is currently suspended from her role as AFN National Chief.
