Iroquois Caucus holding in-person meetings today and tomorrow

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community that Ohén:ton Í:iente ne Ratitsénhaienhs Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer and Ietsénhaienhs Tonya Perron are in Akwesasne today and tomorrow to participate in a meeting with the Iroquois Caucus.

This will be the first in-person meeting of the Caucus since the pandemic began in 2020. The agenda includes the Harvest Working Group (which includes hunting matters), Anishinabek Nation – Iroquois Caucus Alliance (Radioactive Waste Working Group), and Strategic Planning.

The Iroquois Caucus consists of elected Councils from Kahnawà:ke, Akwesasne, Tyendinaga, Six Nations, Kanehsatà:ke, Wahta, and the Oneida of the Thames.

Upon their return, both Kenitsénhaienhs plan to attend the community engagement kiosk being held tomorrow (Friday) afternoon at the Green Space near the Golden Age Club.
