Rehabilitation work on Chemin Saint-Bernard to begin on Monday

09/16/2022

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawą:ke (MCK) has been informed by the City of Chateauguay that work to rehabilitate a section of Chemin Saint-Bernard will begin on Monday, September 19, 2022, until October 28, 2022.

The rehabilitation work will include replacing the bed of the roadway and repaving, between the boundary of Kahnawą:ke to Rue Jack (see map below).

Access to Chemin Saint-Bernard will be available throughout the construction, with one (1) lane available in an alternating traffic flow configuration.

At least two (2) overnight closures will be required for paving in October, with the dates to be confirmed, and communicated once they are made available.

Installation of temporary road construction signs will be installed on the Old Chateauguay Road, 200 meters before the work zone, with a maximum speed limit of 30 km/h.

Please drive with caution and slow down when entering the mobile work zones, and respect the Move-Over Law when you see flashing lights.

The MCK reminds the public that these works are subject to change due to weather conditions, operational constraints, or work progression and that it does not take part in the scheduling or cancellation of such works.
