Landfill Authority now under Public Safety Division

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke wishes to inform the community that the Kahnawake Landfill Authority is now under the direction of the Public Safety Division.

The transfer of the Landfill Authority from the Executive Office to the Public Safety Division was made official at Monday�s (September 19, 2022) duly-convened Council meeting.

�The transfer of the Landfill Authority to Public Safety will help align the community�s need for landfill with the combination of coordination, oversight, and approvals required to ensure the health and safety of Kahnawa�kehr�:non,� said Robyn Montour, General Manager of Public Safety Operations.

In terms of operations, residents will not be directly impacted by this change and can continue to request landfill by calling the Public Safety Division at 450-632-0635.
