Reminder - Shoreline Clean-up event this Saturday

10/13/2022

The Kahnaw:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO) wishes to remind the community that KEPO, the GRAME (Groupe de recommandations et dactions pour un meilleur environnement), and Nathalie Lasselin (Urban Water Odyssey) will be co-hosting the second Shoreline Clean-up event in Kahnaw:ke this weekend.

The operation will be held at the Kahnaw:ke Marina on Saturday, October 15th from 10am until 2pm. The event is open to all Kahnawakehr:non, the organizers teams, and the media.

Nathalie Lasselin will be accompanied by divers to clean up underwater, while the rest of the volunteers will be working on the land portion.

Walk-up volunteers are welcome on the day of the clean-up. Volunteers are advised to bring good closed-toe shoes, gloves, a water bottle, and appropriate clothing, depending on the weather. Cleaning equipment will be provided on-site. Divers who are interested in volunteering for the event are asked to contact KEPO for more information.

Clean-up volunteers will have the chance to win an eco-friendly prize package worth over $100.

This project is being undertaken with the financial support of the Government of Canada through the federal Department of Environment & Climate Change.
