Electoral Officer selected for upcoming By-Election

The Executive Office of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to advise the community that Angus L. Montour has been selected as the Electoral Officer for the upcoming by-election for the position of one (1) Ratsénhaienhs (Elected Council Chief) made available by the resignation of Ratsénhaienhs Alan John Rice.

Upon the reading of Rice’s letter of resignation into the record at today’s duly-convened Council meeting and the official selection of Mr. Montour, the process of conducting the by-election can officially begin, pursuant to section 34.1 of the Kahnawà:ke Election Law.

As the mandate of Mr. Montour as Electoral Officer, along with that of Muriel White-Rice as the Assistant Electoral Officer, has begun, all further information regarding the By-Election will be issued by the Electoral Officer. This includes the Nomination Day, Meet the Candidates Night, By-Election Date and any other pertinent information.
