Meet the Candidates Night this Thursday

The Office of the Electoral Officer wishes to invite the community to Meet the Candidates Night taking place this Thursday, October 27th, at the Knights of Columbus Hall from 6pm to 11pm. The event is scheduled for a maximum of five hours and will end at 11pm at the latest.

There are three persons nominated for the 2022 Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke By-Election. Their candidacy will be made official by noon on Wednesday, October 26th, following due process by the Electoral Officer.

All candidates will have five (5) minutes to speak to the community. Candidate′s speeches will also be available for viewing live over the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke Facebook platform while simultaneously broadcast for listening on K1037 Radio. This will be followed by a question-and-answer period after all candidates have presented their platforms. This portion will not be broadcast.

The By-Election itself will be held on Saturday, November 5th, at Karonhian�nhnha Tsi Ionterihwaienst�hkhwa School gymnasium.
