MCK Congratulates Hall of Famer Walter Goodleaf

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) would like to congratulate Walter �Butch� Goodleaf on his recent induction into the Ontario Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

Walter was officially inducted as a Hall of Famer in the Veteran Player category at a ceremony this past weekend in St. Catherine�s, Ontario, after being selected this past June.

Known for his great two-way playing style, he was part of the team that won the North American Indian Championship held at North Shore, British Columbia, in 1969 and, in the same year, was a silver medalist in the President�s Cup. He was also part of the Caughnawaga Indians team that took the bronze in the 1976 Presidents Cup. 

Goodleaf also served as an MCK Council Chief from 1980 through 1992. He later worked in Sports & Recreation and other departments until his retirement in 2010.
