Message of condolences to the Community
12/15/2022
The month of December has been a tragic one for the community. We have lost a significant number of loved ones, from young adults to elders. Each and every person was a spouse, a parent, a grandparent, a cousin, a friend, or a co-worker. Each was well-loved, and with their passing, so many families have had their hearts broken. The fact that so many Kahnawa’kehró:non passed into the Spirit World before the Holiday Season has made this season even more difficult for so many. We shall do our best to honor their memory.
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to offer condolences to the entire community during this challenging time and share in the collective grieving process. With so many passing, there is no doubt that each and every person has been affected.
As we collectively mourn the passing of our loved ones, we must turn our thoughts to those closest to the departed. To them, we offer our kindest thoughts and best wishes as they are grieving and be reassured that they are in our thoughts as we enter the Holiday season.
