Special Weather Statement in Effect

The Public Safety Division of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke wishes to advise the community that Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for our region, which has the potential to produce rain, which could be heavy at times, and/or freezing rain and snow, from Thursday through Saturday.

Due to the uncertainty of the weather system�s track, it�s not yet possible to provide the exact amount or type of precipitation our area may receive, and residents are being reminded to monitor local media outlets for updated weather forecasts.

Tips:

• check your sump pumps to ensure they are functioning properly
• have de-icing salt/abrasives handy for slippery surfaces like stairs and walkways
• consider delaying travel plans
• check on elders and family members and assist with snow removal

Please note the forecast for areas north of Montreal could see significant amounts of snow and blowing snow.
