01/09/2023
The Justice Services Division of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that the results from a two-week survey to seek community input on draft regulations being developed for the Administrative Tribunal are now available for viewing by clicking here.
The Administrative Tribunal is an important component of the Kahnawà:ke Justice System and is intended to resolve various legal disputes in a manner that is more flexible, efficient, and cost-effective than traditional court systems.
"The technical drafting committee closely reviewed the results of the survey and made several revisions to the draft regulations based on the results and feedback received," said Commissioner of Justice Kevin Fleischer. "Moving forward, we will be increasing our efforts to raise awareness of the Administrative Tribunal and the crucial role that it will play."
The survey took place in October 2022. The Draft Regulations are expected to undergo a 30-day community review period this winter.
