Nits�nhaienhs to attend Regional Engagement Sessions

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke wishes to advise the community that Nits�nhaienhs Ross Montour and Iohahi:io Delisle will be attending the Regional Engagement Sessions being hosted by the Assembly of First Nations Quebec-Labrador and the First Nations Quebec-Labrador Sustainable Development Institute.

The event is taking place in Montreal today (Tuesday) until Thursday, February 16.

The agenda includes presentations and discussions on the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) and its implementation; new Federal Legislation on Drinking Water and Wastewater in First Nations Communities; and the Creation of the Federal Canada Water Agency.

Rats�nhaienhs Montour will attend the UNDRIP sessions, while Rats�nhaienhs Delisle will attend the sessions relating to water.
