Community invited to premiere of significant video project

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke, Kanien�keh�:ka Onkwaw�n:na Raotiti�hkwa Language & Cultural Center and Know History are proud to invite the community to the video launch of Resistance & Resilience: Stories and Remembrances of Our Elders.

The video, which is approximately 45 minutes in length, uses interviews conducted with elders over the past year as part of the Kahnaw�:ke Oral History Project, which is a collaboration between the partners listed above. The event will begin with acknowledgements from the partners, including Oh�n:ton �:iente ni Ratits�nhaienhs Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer. A number of the elders who participated will also be present.

�Since time immemorial, we have passed our knowledge from generation to generation through storytelling,� said Gerald Taiaiake Alfred, one of the Oral History Project organizers. �Ours has always been an oral tradition, and we believe this project is a true reflection of that tradition. It is a significant addition to our storehouse of knowledge.�

  • Time: 4pm to 8pm

The location is wheelchair accessible.

Please note that a dinner buffet featuring traditional foods will be served from 4pm to 6pm. This will be followed by a dessert buffet from 6pm to 8pm.
