The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) is pleased to inform the community that the Kateri Memorial Hospital Centre (KMHC) will be receiving a $5,000 donation to purchase a new 85-inch giant screen Smart TV and a Karaoke Machine for the benefit of the patients and residents.
The donation was approved by the MCK’s Finance, Administration & Operations (FAO) Committee in response to a request from the KMHC’s activity center at the duly convened FAO Committee meeting held on March 15th.
“Music is a big part of the residents’ lives, and this new equipment will assist in improving audio-visual stimulation,” said Ratsénhaienhs Arnold Boyer. “We are pleased to assist in bringing some joy to those who are currently patients or long-term residents of our hospital.”
The FAO Committee oversees and governs the administrative, operational, and financial affairs on behalf of the MCK. Among its many responsibilities, the Committee receives and approves donation requests, making decisions based on consultation and collaboration with proponents while respecting financial limitations. Donation approvals are based upon the MCK Donation Policy, which generally has a maximum contribution identified for different considerations.
