Temporary warming shelter during power outage

The Public Safety Division of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke, in collaboration with Kahnawà:ke Shakotiia’takehnhas Community Services (KSCS) are announcing temporary shelter for anyone who wants to keep warm during the power outage.

KSCS is opening the main building at the Kahnawà:ke Services Complex for this shelter. Community members are asked not to approach the Elder’s Lodge or the Independent Living Center at this time, due to their COVID-19 response health and safety protocols.

At this time, there is no confirmation of when the power outage will subside. As a result, the Public Safety Division will provide updated information on the Kahnawake 911 Facebook page for important information regarding extended power outages.
