Kahnawake Team participates in Emergency Training

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawą:ke wishes to congratulate a team from Kahnawą:ke that participated in the first delivery of the All Hazards Incident Management Team training in Montreal in late March.
It was an intensive five full days of training that included three emergency simulations. This training will strengthen emergency response within the community. The participants included Lloyd Phillips, Robyn Montour, Lance W. Goodleaf, Atiesa Foot, Dennis Leborgne, and Karonhiio Curotte (Kahnawake Fire Brigade).
This was an advanced-level incident management training with three prerequisites - Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS), Basic ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents, Intermediate ICS, and ICS for Expanding Incidents.
Among the participants were 15 different agencies from across Canada, including the Canadian Coast Guard, Red Cross, RCMP, Search & Rescue, Public Safety, and Emergency Management Teams from across Canada.
