Executive Administrative Officer resigns

05/16/2023

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that Executive Administrative Officer (EAO) Tammy Wallace has submitted her resignation, citing personal reasons that she wishes to remain private.

Ms. Wallace started with the MCK in December 2019 as the General Manager of Operations for the Human Resources (HR) Unit. In November 2021, she was the successful applicant for the Executive Administrative Officer position, where she oversaw several administrative units of the organization. Upon the vacancy of the Director position for HR in November of 2022, Tammy had also taken on the additional role of more direct oversight of the unit operations.

"Tammy was instrumental in developing and implementing our new HR software systems and operational processes, which helped to address efficiency across the entire organization," said Executive Director Onerahtókha Marquis. "Her years of experience have allowed her to provide oversight of the HR unit and maintain its stability during unprecedented times."

In the interim, Director of Strategic Planning and Organizational Change Management Dawn Marquis Deere has been seconded to the Director of HR position due to her extensive background in human resources. Ms Marquis Deere will be seconded until a replacement for HR Director is named.

Executive Strategic and Accountability Officer Aianóhon Kaylia Marquis and General Manager of Strategic and Organizational Development Subibe Choudhury will run the day-to-day operations of the Organizational Development Unit.

The MCK wishes to thank Tammy for her dedication and contributions to the organization and wishes her the best.
