Executive Financial Officer departing

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that Executive Financial Officer (EFO) Stephan Roy has submitted his resignation, to pursue another opportunity.

Stephan will be the next Executive Director of the CLSC Naskapi in Kawawachikamach.

Mr. Roy was the selected candidate to join the MCK Executive team in August of 2022. Since then, Stephan has excelled at governing strategy, policy and standards over the fiscal affairs of the organization - helping protect the fiscal integrity and stability of the MCK.

"Although Stephan had only been with us for 1 year, he played an instrumental role in many files, the development of financial policies, hiring of new financial manager, annual budget process, as well as, overseeing the Information Management Unit on an interim basis," said MCK Executive Director Oneraht�kha Marquis. "We are saddened that Stephan is departing the role, but also happy that he is moving into another position he will excel at."

Until a new EFO is secured, Oneraht�kha Marquis will oversee the responsibilities of the position. Stephan will serve his last day as EFO on Friday, August 11, 2023.

The MCK offers its gratitude to Stephan for his dedication during his time with the organization.
