Emergency Response to Motor Vehicle Accident

On the evening of September 15, at 22:41, Peacekeepers responded to a report of a Motor Vehicle Collision on Kateri Island, involving a white Ford Edge occupied by three local females. The three females had various injuries ranging from serious to life threatening.

The vehicle occupants were each transported to hospitals. An 18-year-old female succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. Out of respect to the families of the victims, no other information will be released at this time.

The Kahnaw�:ke Peacekeepers offer our condolences to the families of all involved, and to community members affected by this tragedy. If you or someone you know needs assistance from mental health professionals, we encourage you to contact Kahnaw�:ke Shakotiia�takehnhas Community Services (KSCS) at 450-632-6880 and make use of their services.

The KSCS Family and Wellness Centre (Mohawk Trail) has prioritized access to counsellors today from 10am � 6pm, to help community members deal with this tragedy.
