The Office of the Council of Chiefs would like to inform the community of various upcoming meetings and events being held outside of the Territory of Kahnawà:ke that will require the attendance of the following Ratitsénhaienhs:

1. Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer: Opening ceremony for the construction of Champlain Hudson Power Express. Sky-Deer will participate as a VIP speaker – Astoria, Queens, NY (September 19, 2023)
2. Jessica Lazare: Forum on First Nations Language Rights in Quebec – Regional Committee on First Nations Languages. Lazare will also be speaking on the Right to Self-Determination and Language Rights panel – Quebec City (September 19 -20, 2023)
3. Ross Montour:  – Chiefs of Ontario, First Nations Leadership Council discussion on Bill C-53 - Ottawa (September 19, 2023)
4. Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer and Ross Montour: Ottawa Rally, First Nations’ Opposition to the Passing of Bill C-53 – Ottawa (September 20, 2023)

All Ratitsénhaienhs will return to the office on the following business day following these engagements.
