Community Review Board now Operational

The Justice Services Division of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawą:ke is pleased to announce that the Community Review Board (CRB) is now in operation and starting preliminary reviews of decisions.
The CRB is mandated to perform various duties set forth in the Kanienkehį:ka of Kahnawą:ke Law, Kahnawą:ke Residency Law, and related regulations. These duties include reviewing decisions by the Registrar and the Compliance Officer. It is an interim board that will function until such time as the Administrative Tribunal is operational pursuant to the Kahnawą:ke Justice Act.
The members of the CRB are Ms. Treena Delisle (selected as chairperson), Ms. Rose-Ann Morris, and Mr. Gilbert Terrance (from Akwesasne). They were officially appointed by the Kahnawą:ke Justice Commission on Friday, April 21, 2023.
Also approved by the Kahnawą:ke Justice Commission in April were key governance documents for the CRB, including a Code of Conduct, Conflict of Interest Policy, and Oath of Office.
