KEPO Planting Pollinator Gardens
10/23/2023
The Kahnawà:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO) is happy to announce that they will be planting two new pollinator gardens in the community this week. The pollinator gardens will contain native species of grass, flowers, and other beneficial plants that will provide much-needed habitat for pollinator species and support our local biodiversity.
One garden will be placed next to the Golden Age Club, and a second will be planted at Karonhianónhnha School. Both gardens will be planted with help from students at Kateri and Karonhianonhnha Schools. KEPO thanks the Kahnawà:ke Education Center for its collaboration on this important habitat restoration project. This project is funded by Green Communities Canada’s “Living Cities Fund”.
Please be mindful of these newly planted spaces.
Please call KEPO at 450-635-0600 or email environmentprotection@mck.ca for questions, comments, or concerns.
