Tekanatoken Lahache found near Hwy 138

On the afternoon of October 24, 2023, at 12:30, the Kahnawake Peacekeepers, the Kahnawake′s Search and Rescue Team, and several community members came together to assist in locating Mr. Tekanatoken Lahache, who had not been seen or heard from since the evening of Saturday, October 21. He was reported missing from his residence in Chateauguay on Monday, October 23.

Through cooperation and exchanging information with the Chateauguay Police Service, a search area was established near the area of Highway 138 Territorial boundary. Tragically, Mr. Lahache was found in a wooded area near Highway 138.

The events that led to Mr. Lahache′s passing are still being investigated, and the cause of death has yet to be determined.

The Kahnawake Peacekeepers offer our condolences to the family and all those affected. We urge community members to make use of mental health services provided by KSCS if they feel a need.
