Winter Storm Warning

01/12/2024

The Public Safety Division wishes to inform the community that a new storm developing over Texas will track across Quebec over the weekend. This storm will bring snowfall amounts of 15 to 20 centimeters, strong winds, and local blowing snow over the Kahnawà:ke area. Snow is expected to begin overnight tonight and end late in the day tomorrow, Saturday. A brief period of freezing rain is possible tomorrow afternoon.

Please prepare for possible power outages.

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult in some locations. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways, and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
