Flooding in Tiowero:ton

The Lands Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke is advising the community of severe flooding in Tiower�:ton, making all roads inaccessible.



Due to the level of water, it is presently unknown whether there are also washouts in culvert areas. Tiower�:ton is still under a rainfall warning, and water levels are expected to continue rising.

As the flooding conditions create an extreme danger risk to safety, community members are advised not to access the Territory or venture onto any of the flooded roads to allow Caretakers to focus on ensuring safety during this time. Community members are asked to refrain from calling for updates on their cabins. Instead, it is strongly encouraged to stay informed through the Tiower�:ton Facebook page, which will provide timely updates on when the roads are reopened.
