Recreation Bay Beach closed due to elevated levels of E. coli

The Public Safety Division of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke would like to advise the community that Recreation Bay Beach will be closed for health and safety reasons due to high levels of E. coli.

Recent water sampling by Environmental Health Services (EHS) technicians of Kahnawake Shakotiia′takehnhas Community Services has revealed a rise in E. coli.

It is recommended that the beach be closed until levels return to what is considered acceptable for swimming and recreation.
