Labor Office seeking skilled trade workers

10/08/2024

The Kahnawà:ke Labor Office (KLO) is seeking skilled trade workers in the construction industry to register and participate in their Referral Services for large-scale (Fair Wage) projects in and around the community.

This Referral Service is intended for, but not limited to, the following trades or occupations:

  • Carpenter, Electrician, General Laborer, Heavy Equipment Operator, Insulator, Ironworker, Rodbuster, Painter, Pipe Fitter, Plasterer, Roofer, Surveyor, Tile Setter, Tinsmith, Watchman, Welder, etc.

“Our goal is to maximize Kahnawà:ke workers on these high-wage construction projects by enhancing our labor pool,” said KLO Director Jeff Morris. “This will help us to better serve our community, determine training needs, and improve labor market outcomes.”

Interested persons should visit the KLO on the Old Malone Highway (across from the library) or contact Certification and Competency Officer Rusty Jacobs at 450-632-9595 or via email at rasennisaks.jacobs@mck.ca.
