KGC Welcomes New Commissioner, Issues Call-Out

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawą:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that Donna McComber has been appointed to the Kahnawą:ke Gaming Commission (KGC) by MCED #93/2024-2025 for a one (1) year term.

McComber had expressed interest in being considered for the Commission in April 2024 and has met all of the eligibility requirements for the position. At this time, two other community members have also expressed their interest in serving on the Commission and are undergoing due diligence.

Further to this, the MCK is also seeking additional interested Community members to sit on the KGC. Per the Kahnawą:ke Gaming Law, the interested candidates must:

  • Be registered on the Kanien’kehį:ka of Kahnawą:ke Registry,
  • Be over 18 years old,
  • Have no financial interest or management responsibility for an establishment involving gaming or gaming-related activities within the Territory, and,
  • Must not have been convicted of an indictable offence except when a full pardon has been granted.

Candidates must send a written letter of intent to the address below no later than 4pm on Friday, November 15, 2024, to the attention of:
