Kahnaw�:ke Youth Forum and Barbecue

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) is inviting Kahnaw�:ke youth to a barbecue to gauge their interest in the possibility of creating a permanent forum for youth in which they could discuss issues important to them.

The event is being sponsored and coordinated by the MCK�s Interim Legislative Coordinating Committee.

�The focus will be on youth between the ages of 12 and 25,� said Chief John Dee Delormier. �This is an age group with a lot to say but with no real place to say it. We hope that this will help rectify that situation.�

The event will be held, rain or shine, on Friday, 5 Ohiar�:ha/June from 5 to 6:30pm at the Kahnawake Youth Center. Hamburgers, hot dogs, soft drinks and water will be available free of charge to those wishing to participate.
