Kahnawà:ke Youth Forum and Barbecue

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) is inviting Kahnawà:ke youth to a barbecue to gauge their interest in the possibility of creating a permanent forum for youth in which they could discuss issues important to them.

The event is being sponsored and coordinated by the MCK’s Interim Legislative Coordinating Committee.

“The focus will be on youth between the ages of 12 and 25,” said Chief John Dee Delormier. “This is an age group with a lot to say but with no real place to say it. We hope that this will help rectify that situation.”

The event will be held, rain or shine, on Friday, 5 Ohiarí:ha/June from 5 to 6:30pm at the Kahnawake Youth Center. Hamburgers, hot dogs, soft drinks and water will be available free of charge to those wishing to participate.
