Feasibility Study of Tioweró:ton Maple Syrup Operation, Supported

The Lands Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke is pleased to announce the results of a recent survey regarding support of a feasibility study on a possible project in Tioweró:ton Territory.The survey question asked “Do you agree with having a Feasibility Study done in the Territory of Tioweró:ton on a Maple Syrup Operation?”A total of 84 surveys were completed with seventy eight (78) supporting and six (6) non-supporting respondents. The feasibility study will be carried out in upcoming weeks and the findings will be reported to the community. “We are pleased with the results” said Interim Tioweró:ton Coordinator Mia Phillips. “If a maple syrup operation is found to be feasible, we will seek the approval of the community prior to proceeding with the operation.”Further information is available by contacting the Interim Tioweró:ton Coordinator at the Lands Unit at 450 638 8244.
