The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke would like to inform the community that the next Justice Hearing will be held Wednesday, 3, Enníska / February, 2010 at the Kahnawà:ke Moose Lodge from 1 pm to 4 pm.
At the last hearing, the 2 questions posed to the community were:

Community Response: “Yes, we want our judgments, orders and decisions to be recognized by every jurisdictional authority.”
2. “Given the community’s answers to the previous 3 questions, does the Justice Commission have a mandate to develop a justice system, and do you have any further concerns or qualifications?”
Community Response: “Yes, we agree to have the Justice Commission move forward, with the following qualifications” :
a. Justice Commission/Interim Legislative Coordinating Committee must seek more participation from the community;
b. Justice Commission will develop a draft document on the development of a justice system to bring back to community;
c. Community must have at least 30 days to review and provide feedback on this draft;
d. Determine if a community member need to be present in order to be a Community Representative; and
