Youth Conference participants announced

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawake and the Kahnawake Youth Forum are pleased to announce that six youth have been chosen to attend the Gathering Our Voices 2010 Youth Conference entitled �Our Health and Our Environment.�

Wahiakatste Diome, Taylor Goodleaf, Kawennahere Jacobs, Brianna Montour, Tehoriwathe Beauvais and Jordan Montour will proudly represent Kahnaw�:ke at this event. The Conference will be taking place in Vancouver, British Columbia from March 10-13, Ennisk�:wa/March.

The youth were chosen on the basis of a 500 word essay on the question �why do you want to attend the conference and what are you expected to gain from this experience?�

�Let�s hope that these you ng people get something out of it and come back and use that knowledge to somehow better our community�, said Chief Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer who, along with Chief John Dee Delormier, has helped to organize this project.
