Main Waterline Replacement: Old Malone Highway
04/16/2010
The Capital Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke would like to inform all Kahnawa’kehró:non that the existing main waterline on the Old Malone Highway will be replaced. The works are scheduled to start on Monday, April 19th and will continue until the end of October 2010. The project will be carried out in sections to minimize inconvenience to all community members. A temporary water line will be installed to ensure service to all residents during construction. The first section will start from Saylor’s Meat Market towards the inter-section at Martin Road. The second section will start at Poissant Funeral Home ending at Kane’s Corner (see map below). Upon completion of the previously mentioned works, the road will be resurfaced with new asphalt. Residents in the area may be inconvenienced with temporary loss of water, dust and noise from trucks and equipment, detours and temporary road closures. Residents will be notified at least one day prior to having the water turned off. Proper road signalization will be installed to warn of the construction limits. The community will also be notified when a road closure is scheduled. The Capital Construction Crews will be replacing the water line to ensure better service to the community for our future needs. Your patience and cooperation throughout this project is greatly appreciated. Please contact the Technical Services Office at 450-635-1016 if further information or special requests.
