Shared Vision Statement now available
05/04/2010
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) is pleased to announce that posters of the Shared Vision Statement are now circulating within the community.
Large size posters are available in both Kanien’kéha and English and have been posted on billboards at several community organizations and schools. Smaller versions have also been circulated and have been inserted into mail boxes at the post office for each household.
The Shared Vision Statement was written by the Visioning Committee using contributions from community members who attended a series of workshops and the views of individuals who participated in the comprehensive vision questionnaire and submitted vision essays.
“When we read this statement, we can envision the future for ourselves, our family, community, and nation,” stated Christine Zachary-Deom. “It’s important to have a dialogue with those around us to understand how we feel about our collective future.”
Should you require additional copies or wish to leave a comment about the Shared Vision Statement, please contact Dodie Gilbert at the MCK at 450 632 7500 extension 2270, while quantities last.
Digitized versions of the poster are also available online at www.kahnawake.com/visioning .
