$1.2 Million Secured to Restore Returned Land

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke marks a historic milestone as 162 acres of land are in the process of being returned through the Seigneury of Sault St. Louis land grievance process. Community leaders celebrated the announcement of $1.2 million in Federal funding to decontaminate the site, paving the way for future agricultural use and advancing Kahnawà:ke’s vision for land back, food sovereignty, and community partnership.

  • No Cardboard drop-offs
  • Transfer Depot will be closed
  • Recycling, compost, and cardboard pickup service will continue as usual

Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, June 23rd, at 8:30am.

Waste Management services are as follows:

  • There will be NO Recycling and Compost collection
  • No cardboard drop offs
  • The Transfer Depot will be closed – regular Transfer Depot hours resume on Saturday, July 4th
  • Household Garbage collection will continue as usual

 

All essential services will remain in operation.

Regular business hours will resume at 8:30am on Monday, July 6th.
