Public Relations Unit

The Public Relations Unit is part of the Executive Office of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke and is responsible for overseeing strategy, scope, and standards to uphold the MCK’s integrity and credibility.

About Us

The Public Relations Unit is accountable for creating and executing a management system to oversee its activities, roles, policies, and procedures. This system aims to guide the organization, involve the community, ensure transparency, and encourage effective dialogue and information sharing.

Services

Strategic Public Relations

Carries out Public Relations within the Territory of Kahnawà:ke, amongst the surrounding communities, and with external governments and jurisdictions. Works with intergovernmental and inter-organizational entities on joint public relations strategies and initiatives. Protects the image of the Kahnawà:ke Mohawk Territory and the image of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke.

Internal Communications and Public Relations

Carries out Internal Public Relations within the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke and has the authority to direct and/or conduct Public Relations activities on behalf of all Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke Operations. Further, the Public Relations Unit sets public relations standards for all other Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke Operations to follow.

Media and Community Information Monitoring

Carries out Advisory Services to the Kahnawa’kehró:non Ratitsénhaienhs and all Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke Operations on strategy and planning of public relations.

Media Relations

Carries out Media Relations and Monitoring of/with external National, Provincial, Municipal, and Kahnawà:ke media.

Digital Billboard

** Please note that the size has changed to 1408×400 pixels and is not yet listed in the standards.
Community owned and operated non-profit organizations have access to utilize three digital billboards owned by Cieslok Media, located on Route 207 and  Highways 132 & 138. One free spot is made available for such public service announcements, courtesy of Cieslok Media. Considering the amount of requests this would facilitate, a set of standards was developed and implemented to ensure quality control and to prevent overcrowding of the one free billboard spot.
 
Organizational communications liaisons can request a billboard spot by emailing billboard@mck.ca.
 
MCK Public Relations facilitates the requests.

  • No Cardboard drop-offs
  • Transfer Depot will be closed
  • Recycling, compost, and cardboard pickup service will continue as usual

Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, June 23rd, at 8:30am.

Waste Management services are as follows:

  • There will be NO Recycling and Compost collection
  • No cardboard drop offs
  • The Transfer Depot will be closed – regular Transfer Depot hours resume on Saturday, July 4th
  • Household Garbage collection will continue as usual

 

All essential services will remain in operation.

Regular business hours will resume at 8:30am on Monday, July 6th.
