The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to inform local contractors that a Request for Proposals (RFP) has been issued for the relocation of the Waste Management Department’s transfer depot.

The project will be located at what is known as Lot SLS 8 REM and will involve the construction and installation work required to establish a new transfer depot facility. Project drawings and supporting documentation will be available through a link provided with the RFP package.

The RFP was issued on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, with the following key dates:

  • Confirmation of Participation: September 23, 2026
  • Final Date for Questions: September 28, 2026
  • Proposal Due Date: October 5, 2026

The successful proponent is anticipated to begin work at the end of October 2026, with substantial completion expected by December 18, 2026.

Service Schedule for Labor Day:

  • Recycling & Compost CollectionWill continue as usual – Please place bins curbside by 7am
  • Transfer DepotCLOSED for the day
  • Town GarageCLOSED – All cardboard drop-offs postponed to Tuesday, September 8th

 

All essential services will remain in operation. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8th, at 8:30am.
