On September 21st, 2026, the Kahnawake Peacekeepers responded to a fire at a residence on Zachary Rd. After responding to the fire, investigators discovered a possible clandestine lab located on the property.
On September 22nd, 2026, Kahnawake Peacekeeper Investigators executed a search warrant at the suspected lab, where it was discovered that there was indeed a clandestine lab and the possibility of volatile substances located therein.
Zachary Rd. will now be closed indefinitely around the area of yesterday’s fire, as the peacekeepers have called in a specialized unit from the Surete du Quebec, to dismantle the lab. Labs such as this could have volatile chemicals that are a danger to the public.
Updates will follow on when Zachary Rd. is reopened and the area is safe to traverse again.
