Sanitary sewer cleaning and inspections

Sanitary sewer cleaning and inspections

The Capital Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that Can-Explore will be conducting sanitary sewer pressure cleaning and inspections in the areas indicated below.

Residents in the affected areas are strongly encouraged to ensure that they have a functioning backwater valve prior to the start of the work to help minimize the risk of sewage backing up into their homes. Residents who are unsure whether their backwater valve is functioning properly are encouraged to consult a licensed plumber.

Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, November 9, 2026, and is expected to continue for approximately one week, weather permitting. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place, and every effort will be made to minimize road closures and disruptions.

The Capital Unit appreciates the community’s patience and understanding during this work and apologizes for any temporary inconvenience.
