Human Resouces

The Human Resources Unit is responsible to plan and implement a strategy designed to develop and oversee its activities, roles and responsibilities, policies and procedures, and will guide the organization in personnel-related decisions and ensure organizational human resource preparedness. The unit manages employee-related concerns and needs within the organization and performs various tasks and responsibilities aimed at strengthening the workforce and promoting a positive and equitable workplace environment.

The strategy will address the management of human resources within the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke
(MCK), particularly through the following activities, programs, and services.

About Us

The Human Resources Unit (HRU) is overseen by the Executive Office and is mandated with the authority and
duty to govern over strategy, scope, and standards that fosters the organizational culture and direction as it
relates to human resource (HR) management.

Services

The creation, implementation and management of a Human Resources Strategic Plan that is in alignment with the MCK vision, mission, values, MCK strategic
plan, and political priorities.

Management of the Employee Life Cycle

Recruitment and selection; onboarding, orientation, and offboarding; training and development; performance management; employee relations, including employee/employer relationship management and grievance management; payroll, total compensation and benefits; HR policies and procedures that are in compliance with employment regulations; HR information systems and databases; employee engagement and retention strategies; employee social activity coordination; health, safety and wellness programs; and succession planning.

Easter Holiday office closure

Friday, April 3rd & Monday, April 6th, 2026

All administrative offices of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke will be closed.

 

Please note the following changes to Waste Management Department services during this period:

 

  • Friday, April 3rd – Administrative offices closed
  • Monday, April 6th – Waste Management services resume as usual; however, there will be no cardboard drop‑offs
  • Monday, April 6th – Transfer Depot will operate with reduced hours, from 8am to 2pm

 

Garbage pickup service will continue through the holiday without interruption.

 

All essential services will remain operational throughout the office closures. Regular administrative office hours will resume on Tuesday, April 7th, at 8:30am.
