Public Safety Division Announcement

The Waste Management Department of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawake is proud to announce the overwhelming success of this year’s Low-Waste Market. Nearly 200 community members, spanning all ages, visited the event at the Knights of Columbus this past weekend, each leaving with bags filled with clothing and repurposed items.

In addition to providing a space for reducing waste, data on the weight of donations was collected. A total of 869.39 kg (1,917 lbs.) of items were diverted from landfills thanks to the generosity of the community.

The Waste Management Department extends its heartfelt gratitude to the volunteers and congratulates the community for their collective efforts in reducing waste and giving these items a second life.
