The Office of the Kahnawake Kanienkehaka Registry (OKKR) would like to remind the community of the upcoming information session happening on Wednesday, October 2nd, from 1:30pm to 3:30pm held at the Okwari Room, located on the second floor of the Kahnawake Services Complex. The Information Session will provide a detailed overview of the application process for both recognition and residency on the Kahnawake Kanienkehaka Registry (KKR).

A second session is scheduled for Tuesday, October 29th, from 6pm to 8pm.

These sessions will focus on the process for applying to be recognized on the KKR, obtaining Approved Kahnawà:ke Resident authorization, and applying for Residency Permits. Additionally, attendees will receive information about the forthcoming launch of the Complaints Process for eviction of an individual in violation of the Kahnawà:ke Residency Law.

Though no applications will be distributed or accepted during the sessions, copies of the Kahnawà:ke Kanien’kehá:ka Law and the Kanien’kehá:ka Registry Law will be available for review.

Labor Day office closure

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community that all its administrative offices will be closed for Rotiio’ténion Raonenhnísera, Labor Day on Monday, September 7th.

Service Schedule for Labor Day:

  • Recycling & Compost CollectionWill continue as usual – Please place bins curbside by 7am
  • Transfer DepotCLOSED for the day
  • Town GarageCLOSED – All cardboard drop-offs postponed to Tuesday, September 8th

 

All essential services will remain in operation. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8th, at 8:30am.
