Freezing Rain expected Friday morning

Public Safety Division Announcement

The Public Safety Division of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to advise community members that another round of freezing rain is expected early Friday morning. Additional freezing precipitation amounts of 5 to 10 millimetres are expected during this event.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways, and parking lots may become icy and slippery. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas. Be prepared to adjust your driving to changing road conditions.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to QCstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #QCStorm.
