The Mohawk Council of Kahnawake wishes to inform the community that Ohenton Iiente ne Ratitsenhaienhs Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer is attending the Assembly of First Nations Quebec-Labrador′s (AFNQL) Assembly of Elected Women today and tomorrow, February 13 and 14, 2024 in Gatineau, QC.
Agenda items will include:
- Panel Discussions: Cindy Woodhouse (Assembly of First Nations National Chief), and Manon Jeannotte (Lieutenant Governor of Quebec)
- Land Back strategy discussion
- Quebec Energy Development Issues
- Strategic Health and Social Services Discussion (Bill C-92, Mobilization, Consultation)
- Planning of 1st Indigenous Women Leadership Conference (March 8-9, 2024)
Sky-Deer is expected to return to the office on Thursday, February 15, 2024.
