KEPO and Consultants Surveying Suzanne and Little Suzanne Rivers

Public Service Announcement

The Kahnawà:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO) and consultants from Water’s Edge will be surveying the Suzanne River, Little Suzanne River, and their tributaries from Monday, May 13th – Thursday, May 16th as part of their larger aquatic ecosystem restoration project – Entewahnekahserón:ni’: We are Rejuvenating the Water. Four consultants will be on-site and will be accompanied by KEPO staff on the Territory at all times.

The surveys will be used to determine which kinds of restoration works will be feasible and beneficial to the creek.

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community that all its administrative offices will be closed for Rotiio’ténion Raonenhnísera, Labor Day on Monday, September 7th.

Service Schedule for Labor Day:

  • Recycling & Compost CollectionWill continue as usual – Please place bins curbside by 7am
  • Transfer DepotCLOSED for the day
  • Town GarageCLOSED – All cardboard drop-offs postponed to Tuesday, September 8th

 

All essential services will remain in operation. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8th, at 8:30am.
