REMINDER – Nomination Day Saturday

The Office of the Electoral Officer wishes to remind the community that Nomination Day for the upcoming Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke Elections will be held this weekend, Saturday, May 25th at the Kahnawà:ke Services Complex from 10am to 12 noon.

Those persons intending to run are strongly encouraged to pre-verify their eligibility with the Office of the Kahnawà:ke Kanien’kehá:ka Registry, and arrive with their nominator and seconder (both of whom must be at least 18 years of age and meet the requirements of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke Election Law), as a trio, to expedite the registration process.

The Electoral Officer would like to emphasize the importance of having all documents required that day be completed IN FULL to avoid delays. All nominees will have a photo taken on site.

Labor Day office closure

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community that all its administrative offices will be closed for Rotiio’ténion Raonenhnísera, Labor Day on Monday, September 7th.

Service Schedule for Labor Day:

  • Recycling & Compost CollectionWill continue as usual – Please place bins curbside by 7am
  • Transfer DepotCLOSED for the day
  • Town GarageCLOSED – All cardboard drop-offs postponed to Tuesday, September 8th

 

All essential services will remain in operation. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8th, at 8:30am.
